Two men are in custody in Oak Grove following a standoff at an area residence, where one man was found on the roof.

The Oak Grove Police Department received an automated license plate reader notification regarding a potentially stolen white Buick just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a Facebook post from the department.

An officer saw the vehicle pull into a garage at a residence in the 100 block of Southwest 10th Street, the post said. The driver refused to comply with the officer’s commands and barricaded himself inside the home.

After a “brief standoff,” the homeowner left the residence and cooperated with police, according to the department. Two men, including the driver, were still in the residence.

The first individual “complied with police commands and exited the home, where he was taken into custody,” the post said. The driver was found hiding on the home’s roof. He eventually surrendered to police.

The two men remain in police custody pending an ongoing investigation, the post said.
