Kansas City police searched for human remains in the 9800 block of Hardesty Avenue on Wednesday as they investigated a missing-person case from 1993.

Laura Mason was 45 when she went missing on March 28, 1993. She was last seen at 1610 E. 18th St., according to police.

Mason was last seen getting into a car with a male acquaintance outside the El Capitan lounge. The man said he dropped Mason off at 18th Street and Highland Avenue and she went to the Mutual Musicians Foundation.

Mason was never seen or heard from again.

Police began searching the location on Hardesty Avenue on Wednesday afternoon and said they had not yet found remains.
