Liberty massage therapist charged, accused of sexually assaulting client
A Clay County massage therapist is facing a sexual assault charge after a client alleged she inappropriately touched him during an appointment.
Tong Fu was charged with second-degree sodomy in Clay County on Friday in connection with the incident, which allegedly occurred at a massage business in Liberty, according to a charging document.
The Liberty Police Department received a report just after noon Friday regarding a purported sexual assault at MEIDI Massage, 837 Reed St., according to a probable cause statement filed in support of Fu’s arrest.
A man told officers he had booked the massage appointment because he had back pain, the statement said.
During the appointment, the accuser said Fu sexually assaulted him, after which he “immediately stood up and left the establishment in a state of shock,” according to the court document.
In an interview with Fu at MEIDI Massage, she allegedly told officers only two women had received massages that day, according to the court document.
Fu indicated she didn’t understand the officers, the statement said, but didn’t initially respond when asked what language she spoke. Investigators utilized a translator for the rest of the interaction.
When asked for the business’ daily appointment log, Fu allegedly told investigators the establishment opened at noon, the statement said. She provided a log showing two female clients.
According to MEIDI Massage’s website, the business opens at 9 a.m. each day of the week.
On the log, investigators noticed one woman’s receipt was timestamped at 10:44 a.m., the statement said.
Officers also asked Fu if they could examine video surveillance footage from the establishment, according to the court document. Fu reportedly said she didn’t know the password to the cameras. She later said the devices didn’t record, and only showed a live feed.
Investigators placed Fu under arrest “based on the accuracy” of the accuser’s description of the woman and the inside of the business, the probable cause statement said.
Fu is set to appear for an unspecified court hearing on May 28.
