Baldwin City massage therapist arrested, accused of sexually assaulting a client
A Baldwin City massage therapist was arrested Wednesday after investigators say he sexually assaulted a client during a massage last week.
Officers with the Baldwin City Police Department arrested 44-year-old Aaron Borger, of Hartford, Kansas, Wednesday on “suspicion of committing two counts of rape and one count of aggravated sexual battery,” according to a press release from Baldwin City Police Department Chief of Police Mike Pattrick.
The arrest stems from an alleged incident that occurred last week during a massage therapy appointment at Om Grown Yoga & Wellness Collective, where Borger works as part-time massage therapist, the release said.
The owners of the yoga studio cooperated and assisted the department with the investigation “from the onset,” according to the release.
“The main focus of both the business and the Police Department is the well-being of the victim and the identification of any potential additional victims,” Pattrick said.
According to the news release, Borger also works as a part-time massage therapist at a chiropractor’s office in Grandview, which police did not mention by name.
No charges have been formally filed against Borger, according to the press release. The police department has forwarded an affidavit in support of his arrest to the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office, which will consider whether to file charges against him.
He was booked into the Douglas County Jail following his arrest, according to the jail’s inmate listing.
The press release asks anyone who believes they may have had contact with Borger to contact Detective Vanessa Garza at 785-594-3850 or by email at vschmalz@baldwincity.gov.
An investigation is ongoing, Pattrick said.
