One dead, no arrests after shooting in Kansas City intersection
One man is dead after he was shot in the street in Kansas City on Sunday morning.
Police responded to the report of a shooting around 4:30 a.m. to the intersection of Admiral Boulevard and The Paseo and found a man lying in the street unresponsive, according to Alayna Gonzalez, spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department. He was declared dead at the scene.
There is no preliminary information at this time indicating what led to the shooting, and no arrests have been made. According to Gonzalez, the case is being investigated as a homicide, and the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone who was in the area and heard or saw anything is asked to contact homicide detectives at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward for up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously.
This marks the 133rd homicide this year, compared to 145 this time last year, according to data tracked by the Star, which includes officer-involved shootings.
