Three men face weapons charges after shooting in Raytown traffic
Three men have been charged with weapons crimes after a Raytown shooting in the middle of the street, which stemmed over a man allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and taking her dog.
Tyler Huntington, Jerome Huntington, and Victor Viverette each received charges related to firearms and assault after a shooting on Tuesday where two family members allegedly shot and struck a woman’s partner.
Tyler Huntington, 30, is charged with two counts of armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and first-degree assault and is being held on a $150,000 cash-only bond. His father, Jerome Huntington, 54, faces one count of unlawful possession of a firearm and is held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
Viverette, 30, is facing charges of first-degree domestic assault and unlawful possession of a firearm, is held on a $250,000 cash-only bond.
Viverette is also accused of strangling his girlfriend and taking her dog earlier on Tuesday. Viverette denied assaulting his girlfriend but allegedly admitted to pushing her and breaking her windshield in an earlier incident. He also confessed to taking her dog and leaving it with a friend and accused his girlfriend of taking $10,000 from him.
The Huntingtons, the brother and dad of Viverette’s girlfriend, allegedly attempted to follow Viverette and confront him.
Approximately just before noon, officers arrived at the scene where people in one of the vehicles fled from 55th Street and Raytown Road, according to court documents. `
A white Jeep that contained the Huntingtons and a cousin was driving slowed in front of Viverette and he crashed into the back of them. The two Huntington’s allegedly exited their vehicle with guns and shooting at Viverette’s car.
Tyler Huntington allegedly told police they drove in front of Viverette because he threatened his mother who was driving beside Viverette.
Viverette was shot and both vehicles left the scene, according to court documents.
