Former Johnson County water employee sentenced for fraud
A former water district employee in Johnson County was sentenced Monday to six months in prison for re-selling cell phones he ordered for district employees.
Jason P. Lee, 41, of Shawnee, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan., where he previously pleaded guilty to wire fraud.
As part of his plea, Lee paid about $130,000 in restitution and agreed to serve six months on house arrest after his release from prison.
As a network manager for WaterOne in Johnson County, Lee was responsible for ordering cell phones for employees.
In July 2010, he began ordering phones, which he then would re-sell on eBay and other online sites.
