Park Hill District student arrested, reportedly brought loaded pistol to school
An 18-year-old student in the Park Hill School District was arrested Friday after bringing a loaded pistol to one of the school’s campuses.
Staff at the LEAD Innovation Studio alerted the school’s resource officer at 11 a.m. that they had received a tip that a male student had a firearm on campus, according to a press release from the Platte County Sheriff’s Office.
The student was escorted to the school’s office, where it was discovered he had a loaded pistol in his backpack, according to the press release. He was placed under arrest.
The man is being held at the Platte County Detention Center while criminal charges are pending, according to the press release.
