Three shootings overnight in Kansas City

Three people showed up at area hospitals early Sunday, each with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.

The incidents apparently were unrelated.

Police said one victim showed up at Children’s Mercy Hospital about 2:40 a.m. That shooting took place at Ninth and Jefferson streets near Case Park.

About the same time another victim showed up at the University of Kansas Hospital. It was not immediately clear where that shooting took place, a dispatcher said.

A third victim arrived at Truman Medical Center shortly before 4 a.m. That shooting took place at 27th Street and Woodland Avenue.

Police are investigating all three incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call the Tips Hotline at 816-474-8477.
