One dead following fatal shooting near Benton Boulevard, according to police
A man is dead following a fatal shooting near East 8th Street and Benton Boulevard on Friday.
Officers with the Kansas City Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of Benton Boulevard just after 4:30 p.m., according to a press release from the department.
There, officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the press release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed an altercation between “multiple people” led to the shooting, according to the press release. A subject of interest was taken into custody at the scene.
