The victim’s parents told officers at the scene that the man was “addicted to fentanyl” and had overdosed while riding in an Uber two weeks prior, according to court documents.
An autopsy found his cause of death was fentanyl and ethanol use, according to the probable cause statement.

The victim sent messages to Anderson on “several occasions” arranging to buy drugs, according to court documents. The pair discussed drug pricing, availability and coordinated meetings.
On the day the victim overdosed in the Uber, he had bought drugs from Anderson, according to court documents. She paid for his Uber home.
The victim continued to message Anderson, inquiring about drugs, according to the probable cause affidavit. After some back and forth, the woman agreed to meet with the victim on Feb. 21, 2025.

The victim died two hours later, according to court documents.
In an interview with police, Anderson said she met the victim while working at the United Parcel Service, according to court documents.
When officers told Anderson the victim had died from a fentanyl overdose, the woman cried and “expressed remorse,” according to court documents.
