Lee’s Summit man charged with statutory sodomy

A Lee’s Summit man was charged with several counts of statutory sodomy on Thursday for alleged offenses beginning 15 years ago.

Joseph T. Mackey, 43, was charged with eight counts of second-degree statutory sodomy for alleged illegal sex acts with a minor. Prosecutors accused Mackey of committing the crimes from December 2000 to January 2001.

Jackson County prosecutors filed the charges Thursday and a warrant was issued for Mackey’s arrest. Mackey was not yet in custody Thursday evening.

No other details of the case were immediately available.
