Police investigate Kansas City man shot during argument

Kansas City police are investigating a shooting early Thursday that left a man with gunshot wounds to his hip, shoulder and hand.

Officers were patrolling the 5300 block of Eucild Avenue at 1:41 a.m. when they heard several gunshots. A short time later, several residents dialed 911 and reported hearing gunshots from the 5600 block of Wayne Avenue and the 1600 block of East 57th Street.

Officers went to both locations but did not spot anything. They later found a shooting victim at a residence at 56th Street and Brooklyn Avenue. The man said he was arguing with someone nearby and an unknown person walked up and shot him. The victim immediately ran to a house at 56th and Brooklyn and asked for help.

The victim was taken to a hospital, and is listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made and police continued their investigation on Thursday.
