Kansas City police seek bank robber

Kansas City police seek the person who robbed the Liberty Bank and Trust at 4701 Troost Ave on Tuesday afternoon.

The robbery was reported about 4:45 p.m.

Police described the robber as a black man in his 40s, at least 5 feet 9 and 150 pounds.

The man was wearing a camouflage hat, dark sunglasses, and a yellow handkerchief tied around his neck, apparently secured with silver duct tape, according to the FBI. He had a heavy beard and wore blue overalls and a white t-shirt under a dress shirt.

The robbery was carried out with a verbal threat, and the robber left the bank on foot westbound on Troost Avenue with an undisclosed amount of money.
