One dead after shooting early Sunday in Kansas City’s Northland
A man is dead after a shooting Sunday in Kansas City’s Northland, police said.
Police were called around 2:30 a.m. to the 7800 block of North Oak Trafficway, where they found people performing lifesaving measures on a man suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Alayna Gonzalez, spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department.
The victim, later identified as 47-year-old Samuel Aro, was taken to a hospital and died there around 7 a.m. A verbal dispute may have occurred between Aro and another man that escalated into gunfire, Gonzalez said.
