Man shot multiple times while sitting in truck in Kansas City

A Kansas City man was in stable condition after being shot in the chest and arm early Thursday while sitting in a pickup in the 3100 block of East 49th Street.

The victim told police two men approached him just before 2 a.m.. One shot the victim with a handgun in the upper body. The gunman and his accomplice fled east.

The victim ran to a nearby residence for help. He was taken to a hospital. Details on what prompted the shooting were not available.

Police did not have a detailed description of the gunman or his accomplice.
