Kansas City police investigate homicide near U.S. 71

Kansas City police investigated a homicide Wednesday afternoon alongside U.S. 71 near the southern edge of the city.

Witnesses reported a shooting about 3 p.m. in the 14000 block of U.S. 71, north of Missouri 150.

Police did not immediately find a victim, but after conducting a search of the area with Belton police, officers found a man dead inside a vehicle.

The investigation continued Wednesday.
