The Missouri State Highway Patrol is searching for a car allegedly involved in a possible road rage incident on Interstate 29 in Kansas City, a spokesperson said.

Troopers responded just before noon Thursday to the southbound lanes of Interstate 29 near Vivion Road, according to Cpl. Justin Howard, a spokesman with the highway patrol.

A preliminary investigation shows there were two vehicles involved in the incident, one of which was struck by gunfire while the other fled the scene, Howard said in an email.

Only one vehicle was struck by gunfire, Howard said. No one was injured.

The vehicle which allegedly fled the scene is a white Mercedes passenger car, Howard said.

No other information about suspects was available Friday.

Anyone who was in the area of southbound I-29 near Vivion around the time of the shooting and saw something is asked to call Troop A at 816-622-0800.
