Anthony D. Allen has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and two counts of rape.

Prosecutors on Tuesday accused a man of holding a Lenexa woman against her will for more than a month at her apartment.

The woman told officers that the man also raped her.

Police arrested Anthony D. Allen, 34, after responding to a call about 8:30 p.m. Sunday to check on the welfare of a resident in the 7700 block of Halsey Street.

At first, Allen refused to come out of the apartment, according to police. Negotiations began and Allen eventually surrendered. Authorities took him to an emergency room because he had ingested bug spray. Hospital authorities released him later Sunday night.

On Tuesday, prosecutors charged Allen with aggravated kidnapping and two counts of rape. All three are felonies.

Allen’s bond has been set at $500,000.
