Kansas City police investigate pre-dawn shooting

A Kansas City man was recovering Tuesday after sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the head before dawn.

Officers went to the residence about 4:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Booth Avenue on a reported shooting. They found the victim outside. The gunman already had fled. The victim, who police described as being in his 30s, was taken to the hospital. His condition was not available.

Details on what prompted the shooting were not available.
