Woman accused in Overland Park stabbing

An Independence woman was charged Monday with stabbing an Overland Park man multiple times in a Saturday afternoon disturbance.

Chivon Ash-Vieu, 27, was charged in Johnson County District Court with aggravated battery and intimidation of a witness.

A man called police just before 4 p.m. Saturday to report that he had been stabbed at a residence in the 7300 block of Metcalf Avenue.

Police said Monday that the victim underwent surgery for non-life threatening injuries.

Ash-Vieu refused to appear for her scheduled first court appearance Monday afternoon. A judge set her bond at $15,000.
