One man is dead after being shot early Sunday morning in Kansas City
One person is dead after being brought to a Kansas City hospital with a gunshot wound early Sunday morning.
Police were called just before 1:30 a.m. to Research Medical Center on Meyer Boulevard on a reported walk-in shooting. The injured man was brought by a private vehicle and died of his injuries.
Preliminary investigation from detectives showed the shooting happened on 63rd Street and Manchester Trafficway, according to Sgt. Philip DiMartino, a spokesperson with the Kansas City Police Department. No one has been taken into custody, but detectives are canvassing the area for physical evidence and talking to witnesses to figure out what lead to the shooting.
This killing marks the city’s 137th homicide, compared to 170 this time last year, according to data tracked by The Kansas City Star.
