Wyandotte County DA charges 2 KCK firefighters on same day for unrelated felony offenses
Two Kansas City, Kansas, firefighters face felony charges stemming from unrelated allegations brought to police over the past two months, according to the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s office.
District Attorney Mark Dupree announced Wednesday his office charged Marcos Jaramillo Ramirez with aggravated domestic battery, a felony. Ramirez is also accused of misdemeanor criminal restraint, battery and witness intimidation.
According to court documents, Ramirez choked a person who was either a romantic partner or household member. Authorities allege the firefighter also threatened the victim as a means to dissuade contact with law enforcement.
The alleged crimes took place Saturday. The charges were filed Tuesday.
In the second case, Joshua G. Bosley is charged with criminally damaging property on June 8. The alleged victim in the case shares his last name. He is accused of causing somewhere between $1,000 and $25,000 in damage to kitchen appliances, cabinets, furniture and other personal items.
A spokesman for the district attorney’s office said in an email Wednesday the alleged crimes are unrelated.
Kansas City, Kansas, police investigated both cases.
Online court records did not list defense attorneys for either Ramirez or Bosley.
Spokespersons for the fire department and Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, did not immediately reply to The Star’s requests for comment.
