Kansas City police identify two men slain during family gathering

Police on Monday identified two men slain early Sunday during a family gathering in the Northeast area of Kansas City as Antonio Hernandez, 31, and Omero Garcia, 39.

The incident was reported shortly after midnight outside a residence near Thompson and Colorado avenues. Five people were shot, police said. One died at the scene and a second died after being taken to a hospital, police said.

Police did not release other details about the shooting.
