Girl, 5, pronounced dead after being pulled from lake at Watkins Mill State Park

A 5-year-old St. Joseph girl who was pulled Thursday from a lake in Watkins Mill State Park has died.

Nevah M. Boston was pronounced dead early Saturday at Children’s Mercy Hospital, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. The park is north of Excelsior Springs.

The girl’s family was swimming at the lake when the girl wandered away about 3 p.m. Thursday, the Highway Patrol said.
