Police seek help locating man who raped KC teen

Kansas City police are seeking the public’s help to find a rapist who attacked an 18-year-old woman moments after she got off of her school bus Dec. 5 near 42nd Street and Cleveland Avenue.

The victim said she heard footsteps behind her. Moments later, a man grabbed her and threw her on the ground in a nearby field.

He told her, “You better not scream or I will kill you.”

He picked her up and moved her farther back into the field by a fence. He threatened her a second time. He grabbed her cellphone and threw it out of her reach before raping her.

He is described as a black male in his early 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build. He stuttered and had a strange odor, police said.

Police ask anyone with information about him to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
