Two-vehicle wreck kills Kansas City woman

A Friday morning wreck in Kansas City killed an 18-year-old driver who had made a U-turn into the path of another vehicle.

According to police, Anaya D. Newton of Kansas City was traveling west on 63rd Street near Interstate 435 when she made the U-turn about 9:30 a.m. A Dodge headed the other direction collided with her Ford between I-435 and Winchester Road, police said.

Newton was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died. The second driver was treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
