Late night Kansas City shooting leaves two injured

Kansas City police are investigating a late Thursday shooting that wounded two men, although their injuries were not beleived to be life-threatening.

The incident happened about 11 p.m. in the 3700 block of Prospect Avenue. The victims told police they were being tailgated while driving on Prospect Avenue. The tailgating vehicle pulled in front of the victims at an angle, pinning them in. A gunman got out of the vehicle and began shooting into the victims’ vehicle. Both passengers were struck in the legs.

The victim who was driving managed to drive away but lost control and crashed at 31st Street and Prospect. Both victims jumped out of the vehicle and ran through a nearby alley. A resident allowed the men to hide inside their home.

One of the victims is in stable condition at a hospital and the other was treated and released.

No arrests have been made.
