Two pedestrians were injured Tuesday night in an Independence hit-and-run crash involving a minivan, according to police.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. at Winner Road and Appleton Avenue, police said on social media. Both pedestrians suffered serious injuries, according to police.

Investigators with the Traffic Unit were asking the public for help to identify the driver of the minivan, which appeared to be red or maroon in color. It was last seen headed west on Winner after the driver fled the scene.

Further information about the injured pedestrians was not immediately disclosed by police. Other details about the minivan were unknown.
