A man was shot and killed by multiple suspects in Kansas City, Kansas, Friday evening on a commercial street, police say.

Around 7:30 p.m., dispatchers received a 911 call about a shooting outside a business on the 5500 block of Leavenworth Road — near Church’s Chicken, Tom’s Burgers, Security Bank and Happy Foods North.

The victim was shot several times before the suspects got into a vehicle and fled the scene, according to a statement from the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died.

Police have not released anything further about the shooting. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the anonymous Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
