A man is in critical condition after he was shot and found lying on the ground Monday evening at an apartment complex in Raytown, a spokesman for the Raytown Police Department said.

Police responded shortly after 8 p.m. Monday on a report that a man had been shot multiple times near the 9900 block of 60th Street.

Arriving officers found the victim on the lawn outside the Somerset Village apartments, said Capt. Dyon Harper, a spokesman for the department.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

No one was in custody and no suspect information was being released at this time, Harper said.
