Kansas City double shooting Thursday leaves 1 with life-threatening injuries: Police

Kansas City police were investigating a double shooting that happened Thursday evening that left one person with life-threatening injuries.

The shooting unfolded around 6:13 p.m. near Bannister Road and Blue Ridge Boulevard, Capt. Corey Carlisle, a department spokesman, said in a statement late Friday morning.

Responding officers found one gunshot victim in a grassy area, Carlisle said. Kansas City Fire Department personnel took him to the hospital with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, police learned a second gunshot victim had driven to the hospital, Carlisle said. That person’s medical condition was not immediately known.

Police were investigating the shooting as a possible aggravated assault Friday.
