A juvenile was seriously injured Tuesday night in a hit-and-run crash on Kansas City’s East Side, according to police.

Around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a reported injury crash involving a pedestrian in the 10100 block of East 42nd Street. The juvenile was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

Crash investigators determined that a dark-colored vehicle of unknown make and model was traveling at high speed on East 42nd Street. After striking the juvenile in the middle of the street, police said, the driver continued west.

The crash remained under investigation Wednesday, police said.
