Man shot to death outside shopping center Friday in Kansas City’s Northland: police

One person was killed Friday afternoon in a shooting outside a store at the Vivion West Mall just north of Kansas City, authorities said.

Shots were fired at about 3:15 p.m. Friday in the 2400 block of Vivion Road in Northmoor, a small town in Kansas City’s Northland, according to a news release from the Platte County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, a 32-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri, was declared dead at the scene, authorities said.

One suspect, a 50-year-old man, is being questioned by police as a possible suspect, according to the release.

No other information was immediately available.
