Kansas City, Kansas police search for suspect in shooting that killed innocent bystander

A 20-year-old Kansas City, Kansas woman died in the hospital, days after she was found in her residence with a gunshot wound, according to police.

Jadah M. Clark was shot April 14 as she was inside a residence near 13th Street and Washington Boulevard, Kansas City, Kansas police said. Police said Friday that Clark was an “innocent victim” fatally wounded during an exchange of gunfire near her home.

Detectives with the Major Case Unit were handling the investigation. As of Friday, no arrests had been made.

The shooting marks the city’s fifth homicide so far in 2023, according to data maintained by The Star. Last year, there were 40 in Kansas City, Kansas.

Police were asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
