TV lie detector fail leads to sex charges against Kansas City man
Jackson County authorities have accused a 22-year-old man of sexual offenses involving children after he failed a lie detector test on a nationally syndicated television talk show.
Dameion M. McBride of Kansas City was charged Wednesday with two counts of child molestation and statutory sodomy. The incidents allegedly occurred between Jan. 1 and Feb. 22 at a residence in Grandview. Bond was set at $150,000.
According to court records, a witness told police that McBride had recently appeared on “The Steve Wilkos Show” to take a lie detector test and clear his name after after being accused of committing several sexual offenses.
Investigators later contacted McBride, who denied the allegations. McBride agreed to take a lie detector test administered by investigators but failed that one as well, according to court records.
