Man accused in death of 7-month-old Shawnee girl appears in court
A Shawnee man accused in the child abuse death of a 7-month old girl made his first court appearance Monday.
Aaron Peck, 24, is charged in Johnson County District Court with child abuse and felony first-degree murder in the July 7 death of Analeece McHenry-Widmer.
Peck was arrested on the charges Friday and is being held in the Johnson County Jail on a $1 million bond.
According to the criminal complaint, the girl was injured on July 6 at Peck’s apartment that he shared with the girl’s mother in Shawnee. Analeece died from her injuries on July 7, according to the complaint.
The affidavit containing more details about the allegations against Peck is not yet publicly available.
His next court appearance is scheduled for July 23.
