Hours after burglars struck early Friday, debris still littered a Kansas City clothing store smashed open by a truck.

The impact knocked the door and nearby windows several feet into the New York Fashion store at 4205 E. Blue Parkway.

Racks, clothes, signs and boxes were scattered across the floor.

A witness told police she saw a truck back into the store entry about 4:20 a.m. The burglars took clothing.

Officers handling a non-injury wreck at Blue Parkway and Elmwood Avenue arrived at the store and found shattered glass on the floor of the business. The burglars and their truck already were gone.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video of the incident. Police did not have a detailed description of the people who stole the items.
