A woman was killed and a juvenile was injured in a shooting Monday night in Overland Park on the same block where two young men were fatally shot last week.

Police were called just before 6:30 p.m. Monday to the 7800 block of West 61st Terrace.

The woman who was killed was described as in her 30s. An 11-year-old girl had non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said a suspect filed multiple times with a semi-automatic rifle into a duplex before leaving in a gray Pontiac Grand Prix. There were nine people inside the duplex, including seven children.

Investigators are looking into any connection between Monday’s incident and the one last week. Anyone with information is asked to call the Tips Hotline at 816-474-8477.
