Five people were seriously injured in a shooting Saturday in Blue Springs that police believe involved rival motorcycle clubs.

Officers were dispatched around 8:50 p.m. near U.S. 40 Highway and Adams Dairy Parkway, said Jennifer Brady, a spokeswoman for the Blue Springs Police Department.

Police located several injured people just past the intersection, Brady said. Five people were transported to the hospital and are being treated for serious injuries.

The majority of the individuals involved in the incident were on motorcycles, Brady said.

Several arrests have been made. Investigators are working to sort through and develop further information on suspects.
