A local Habitat for Humanity branch is asking for help after thousands of dollars worth of tools were stolen from a warehouse.

Staff with Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City wrote on Facebook that on Thursday night, someone hopped the barbed wire fence at their warehouse and broke into their tool trailer.

“These are tools we rely on every day to keep building the affordable homes Kansas City families need,” the post read.

The local branch is part of a nationwide nonprofit, known for constructing and improving affordable homes, often through volunteer efforts.

“With the rising costs of construction materials, our budget is already stretched to its limit, and this incident doesn’t help. We really need your support right now!” the post read.

The nonprofit is asking for the community’s help to replenish their tool supply. Donations can be made through their Amazon Wishlist at https://pulse.ly/827nwlmlk4.
