At about 5:45 p.m. on April 5, police responded to a four-vehicle crash near East 43rd Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard, police said in a news release Sunday.

The driver of a silver Smart car, Raymond George, 32, was headed east on 43rd Street when he took a left without yielding to traffic, police said.

George was taken to the hospital and died a few weeks later, on at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The other drivers involved in the crash were not badly injured, police said.

The crash marks the 33rd fatal traffic crash in Kansas City in 2022, according to the department.
