Driver pushes damaged car into KC driveway, walks away after crash with motorcyclist

A hit-and-run driver got help pushing his crippled car into a driveway of a house and walked away after a life-threatening crash with a motorcycle Sunday evening in Kansas City, a police spokeswoman said.

The crash occurred shortly after 5 p.m. as a driver in a blue Ford Focus was headed north on The Paseo.

The driver had just passed the intersection of Armour Boulevard and made a U-turn in the road. Meanwhile a green and black Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was also headed north, said Capt. Leslie Foreman, a spokeswoman for the Kansas City Police Department.

The driver of the motorcycle, which police said was traveling at high speed, struck the left side of the Ford. He was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, Foreman said.

The driver of the Ford continued driving south on The Paseo. The damaged vehicle became disabled about two blocks later and an unknown male helped the driver pushed the damaged car into the driveway of a house near 37th Street and The Paseo, she said.

The driver then walked away.
