Shopper reports being fired upon by two gunmen outside Oak Park Mall

Two people fired shots at a shopper headed to his car about 6:45 p.m. Saturday at Oak Park Mall, police said.

Both shots missed the shopper, a man in his 20s who had parked near Macy’s, according to Overland Park police.

The man fled in his car and later contacted police about the incident, police said. He described both gunmen as being in their 20s with average builds. One appeared to be Hispanic and had tattoos. The other was black and had dreadlocks.

Investigators were reviewing video recordings and interviewing witnesses.
