Raytown police investigate home invasion
Raytown police are investigating a home invasion that took place late Monday, when four gunmen forced their way into a residence and stole money and a television.
The incident occurred about 11 p.m. Monday in the 8400 block of Woodson Court. Police said the gunmen entered the home and demanded money and drugs. They left minutes later with a small amount of cash and a television. A female resident was uninjured but told police she was shaken.
Police said they believe the residents were not the intended target of the robbery because they had recently moved into the home.
There was no suspect vehicle description.
Investigators did not have a detailed description of the gunmen. One was described as a black man in his 20s with a dark complexion, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He wore an orange or red hooded sweatshirt. Another suspect was described as a black man in his late 20s with light complexion, 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
