Three shot in Platte County residence on Tuesday evening, police say

The Platte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two teenagers and one adult were shot Tuesday evening in a residence in the suburban village of Ferrelview.

Police were dispatched around 6:45 p.m. to the 500 block of Heady Avenue after receiving a report of a triple shooting, said Maj. Erik Holland, an office spokesman. The three were taken to an area hospital for treatment, and all were reported to be in stable condition as of Tuesday night.

Detectives have identified a suspect after speaking with witnesses and victims, Holland said, and were actively working with other area law enforcement agencies to bring him into police custody.

The victims and the suspect knew one another, Holland said. The exact nature of their relationship was unclear Tuesday night.

Holland added that police currently have no reason to believe that the suspected shooter presents a danger to the public at large.
