Surveillance photos show masked men robbing Shawnee convenience store
Police released surveillance photos that show two men armed with a handgun robbing a Shawnee convenience store Sunday morning.
Police hope the photos lead to tips that help solve the armed robbery of the Fuel Expresso in the 23000 block of West 83rd Street.
A witness told police that two men wearing masks entered the convenience store shortly before 6 a.m. They displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cash registers as well as cigarettes, according to police.
The robbers fled in a silver Doge Stratus, which was found a short time later in the 8300 block of Woodsonia Drive, near Johnson Drive and Kansas 7 in western Shawnee.
The car, police said, had been stolen the night before in Kansas City.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Shawnee police at 913-631-2150 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
