Lee’s Summit police increase patrols after stranger danger incident

Lee’s Summit police are increasing patrols in the Raintree Lake area near the 4400 block of Southwest Gull Point after a stranger approached a boy and his sister.

Police were told about 8:30 p.m. that the 13-year-old boy noticed a suspicious car earlier Wednesday while walking home with his 5-year-old sister, police said.

The driver yelled for the children to come to his vehicle. They ignored him and continued walking. The man yelled at them a second time. The children again ignored him.

After arriving home, the teen noticed the man still was nearby. The man drove away after the teen came outside and summoned help.

Police described the driver as a thin, white male who was balding with black hair. The vehicle was described as a white sedan with a license plate that began with the letter A.
