Independence restaurant employee shot
An Independence restaurant employee remained hospitalized Thursday after being shot during an apparent robbery attempt Wednesday night, police said.
A gunman entered the Olympic Grill at 9100 U.S. 40 about 8:45 p.m. and demanded money from the employee before shooting him with a handgun.
The shooter, described as a slender black male about 5 feet and 9 inches tall wearing a dark shirt and a dark bandana over his face, fled on foot without obtaining any money.
