Johnson County man who fled house arrest is caught in California
Police in California have arrested an Overland Park man facing sex abuse allegations who fled from house arrest last weekend.
Overland Park police said they received a tip about the whereabouts of Sean Dow and passed it along to authorities in California. They were notified Thursday morning that Dow had been arrested in the Los Angeles area, an Overland Park police spokesman said.
Dow, 28, is charged in Johnson County District Court with sexually abusing four female students at a Shawnee music store where he gave lessons.
He was confined to his house in Overland Park as a condition of his bond, but authorities discovered early Saturday he had disconnected a monitoring device and fled.
Johnson County prosecutors have requested that his bond be revoked. A new bond of $500,000 has been set.
Overland Park police said Thursday they were unsure how soon Dow will return to Johnson County.
